Do military discounts apply to veterans — not just active duty?
Many do, and this is growing. NCL, Princess, Holland America, Carnival, Royal Caribbean, and most hotel chains explicitly include veterans. Some programs require an honorable discharge and a minimum service period. Always check eligibility before assuming.
Are military discounts available for Canadian military members?
Yes. Many major cruise lines including NCL, Princess, Holland America, Royal Caribbean, and Carnival extend their programs to Canadian National Defence members. Disney's specific military rates are currently U.S.-only; Canadian veterans should ask about Canadian Resident rates instead.
Can military discounts be combined with other cruise promotions?
It varies by cruise line. NCL's military discount is stackable with the Free at Sea™ package — one of the best combinations in the industry. Princess and Holland America onboard credit is combinable with most fares. Royal Caribbean's military rate is a "restricted discount," and which promotions it can combine with changes with each current sale. Always ask before booking.
What if my cruise is canceled due to military deployment?
Most major cruise lines have deployment protection policies. NCL issues a Future Cruise Credit when deployment orders are submitted; Royal Caribbean and Carnival have similar provisions.
