Space-A travel
Space-A (Space Available) lets eligible members fly on DoD aircraft on a space-available basis, at no cost or very low cost. It's one of the most remarkable — and least-used — benefits available.
Who qualifies — in priority order
- Priority 1 — Active duty on emergency leave
- Priority 2 — Active duty on ordinary leave
- Priority 3 — Guard/Reserves on leave
- Priority 6 — Retired military and dependents
How it works
- Register
- Online via the AMC Self-Signup Tool (gatesea.mtmc.gov/amctravel), or at your nearest AMC passenger terminal
- Seating
- First-come, first-served from among eligible passengers by priority
- Cost
- Free or minimal fees
- Routes
- Domestic (CONUS) and international — Europe and the Pacific
- Best for
- Flexible travelers with time to wait for a seat
How to access. Space-A is arranged online through the AMC Self-Signup Tool or directly through your nearest AMC passenger terminal — it is a government program, not something booked through a travel advisor.
